The Reserva Story

Loved by novices and experts alike, Campo Viejo Reserva captures the very best of the Rioja region. A truly versatile wine, it’s complex and elegant yet easy to enjoy, which makes it the perfect wine to enjoy anytime, especially if it’s a glass with friends.

Campo Viejo Reserva is made up of three grape varieties – Tempranillo, Graciano and Mazuelo – which are the main red grapes used in traditional Rioja blends. Wines in Rioja are classified by the different wine ageing periods between barrel and bottle, and the longer the time spent ageing in the barrel, the more complex the wine will be. For wine to be classed as a ‘Reserva’, it must be aged for a minimum of three years with at least one year spent in the barrel.

Looking for pairing ideas? Campo Viejo Reserva is delicious with red meat and game, grills and roasts, as well as mature and blue cheeses. It goes particularly well with dishes such as grilled tuna steak or grilled beef with black pepper. And if you’re thinking of pairing with tapas – we’d recommend Iberian ham, potato omelet and any roasted meats.
